I think it's weird

Well, weird may not be the right word. Insensitive. Crazy. Ridiculous. Those are sounding about right.

I read this article tonight about a forthcoming video game. Not just any video game, but one which recreates the Battle for Fallujah in 2004. Now, maybe it's just me - I don't know nothin' about nothin' - but I think that it's a *little* too soon to be turning OIF into a video game. Ya know, considering that Iraq is still a major combat zone in The Global War on Terror our Overseas Contingency Operations.

I don't know. What do ya'll think?

I know nothing about video games, but this one does not sound great. It will be interesting to see how people take to it or not.

Whoa. Fallujah 2004 just doesn't say funtime video game to me. Wonder how David Bellavia and guys who were there at the time feel about this.

That's just WRONG. No two ways about it.

Wow. I agree with you! Kids in this country are already too desensitized to violence, in my opinion, and this will make it even worse. Not to mention the desensitization to war in general. Geez.

@Lou: It will be interesting to see what - if any - the reaction will be. Army of Dude had a pretty funny post about other war-inspired video games...

@Sisu: I wonder that, too, and I wonder what they think about the guys who were the consults on the videogame.

@Buck: I hear ya, it just seems a little too...fresh...to be turning into a game.

@Janie: I don't know that one more violent video game is going to make kids more desensitized (I think they are already at the limit), but I do see your point!
